Which flooring is best for my bathroom?

All bathrooms, regardless of size, will encounter a lot of water and humidity. These are the most important factors to take into consideration when choosing your bathroom flooring. However, we also know that as well as wanting to make sure you choose the most practical and safe product, you want to love the look of your new bathroom flooring.

Starting with the safety aspect of this room it is vital that your flooring is anti-slip, particularly if you have younger children, elderly people or people with mobility difficulties. In the bathroom it is incredibly difficult to avoid spillages and your flooring must be able to cope with this and keep you safe!

The second issue to consider is the practicality and maintenance requirements in this room. You need your bathroom floor to be able to cope with a heavy footfall. Depending on your lifestyle and family size, you may also need it to be quick and easy to keep clean and hygienic– the great news is that there are lots of options that blend a range of styles with hardwearing functionality.

Our number one recommendation for a bathroom floor would always be Luxury Vinyl Tiles, let us explain why.

These tiles are both water resistant and anti-slip, which makes them perfect for this wet and humid room. Luxury Vinyl Tiles are strong and durable. LVT is warmer underfoot than ceramic tiles, comfortable to stand on and forgiving of dropped objects in a way that ceramic tiles and even wood aren’t. Luxury Vinyl Tiles can also be installed over underfloor heating, which is a massive positive if this is something that is being considered for your bathroom.

Along with having all the safety and practicality features needed, Luxury Vinyl Tiles are available in all different shapes, colours, sizes and designs. Many people like to go for the traditional tile effect and with new designs, we can use grout strips to further replicate the feel of a real tiled floor. If you were keen for a wood effect, LVT can deliver on this look with the huge bonus of longevity and no risk of your floor warping or the dreaded water marks. There are of course many other design options available, including mosaic and abstract modern designs.

This means whatever you are considering for your bathroom, it is highly likely we can achieve your design using a Luxury Vinyl Tile that ticks all the practical boxes and delivers an easy to clean, stylish bathroom.
